Open Wheel Modified Results:  The second race of the season for the modified was looking pretty good.  We again unofficially recorded laps in practice that beat track record, leaving us with high hopes for the evening.  We started last in the first heat race because of the four week average formula.  We passed four cars in the eight lap sprint to finish 6th.
In the twenty lap feature we started in the last row.  In the first five laps we passed several cars and, by lap six, we were in 13th place.  We were looking to move into the top ten and go on from there, but the car behind us dove into us in turn 1 and we were spun out.
There was no caution flag. Despite our best efforts, and a very smoky donut to get turned around, we were lapped by the leader.  We hung in with the leader for several laps (We looked like we were in second place which would have been nice!) and then the front right tire began to lose air from a puncture.
We moved up the track and let the other cars chasing the leader go by, finally finishing 14th in the 20 car field.

Late Model Results:  The engine in our late model just isn't up to the standard of the incredible motor in the modified supplied by Vaseleniuck Engine Development.  Comparing what Dave has built with this one makes us value Dave's work all that much more.  We'll continue working on it, but could use some additional sponsorship to help make it competitive.  We didn't run the late Model this week knowing we couldn't be a contender in the 100 lap race.
