Tonight was less than rewarding as a driver, although the fans certainly got their money's worth if they were hoping for another OWM crash fest!
We started the heat race in 5th, fell to 7th and worked our way back to 5th before the 8 lap sprint was finished. After the heat race, which was full of bumping and rubbing, we discovered a significant cut on the right front tire that required us to change tires.  We had to go out with a slightly different set up.  We also found the rear seal was leaking and thanks to the help of David, Joe, Shawn, Dad and Jimmy, we managed to correct that, too.  Needless to say, it was a very busy pit.
We started the feature in 9th out of 13 cars.  The car behind us was impatiently pushing our back bumper all the way through the backstretch, despite the traffic and nowhere to go. Then there was a wreck and several cars spun out ahead of us in the third and fourth turns.  Despite standing on the brakes, we were pushed into the wreck and under the car in front of us.  The back of the #88 car ended up on top of our hood and our left front suspension was broken.  There wasn't even one lap on the board and we were loaded on a flatbed.  Three other cars also were towed off the track leaving only a few cars to race.  There were other cautions, more cars towed out, and the race finally ended.  Next week is double points night and we'll work throughout the week to be ready.
