More of Majestic Racing's Top Fuel Bike |
This bike currently holds all four world
records for Pro-Gas drag bikes. This 160 Cubic Inch, Turbocharged bike with mechanical
fuel injection runs on alcohol. While it may be a shame to use a perfectly good drinking
beverage to fill the fuel tank of a bike, this beast uses it at a fantastic rate. With its
world record times for the 1/4 mile at 7.59 seconds at 181.5 MPH and in the 1/8 mile at
4.92 at 151.2 MPH, there is some serious chug-a-lugging going on to get the alcohol down
the throat of this monster. Not wanting to rest on their laurels, the team moved up to TOP FUEL in 1998. They stayed with a lot of their winning combination; Turbo and Alcohol. But to play with the big boyz, added a new weapon in their quest for more speed, Nitrous Oxide! Yep, they pass a lot of serious gas. Majestic Racing is the only non-nitro Harley contesting the Top Fuel title. To compete in Top Fuel, they have got to improve their 60 foot times. Their Pro-Gas winning combination did a 1.43 second 60 foot time, but its got to be faster. How fast will they have to go? We will find out when the 1999 Drag Racing Season continues. For those of you that think 1.43 seconds is slow for 60 feet, remember that a stock Harley-Davidson Big Twin ridden by an average rider trying to accelerate as fast as they can, will do 60 feet in about 2.4 seconds. Majestic
Racing Coming At Ya! Bike Week 1999 Update 'Waco Wayne' and the Majestic Eagle are back stronger than ever after a disastrous 1998 engine blow up. Loosing the engine was a serious setback, but the team put the bike back together during 1998. At the AHDRA 1999 Bike Week Nationals, the results were not as good as the team would like. Despite going out in the first round, the team made steady progress during the races. Minor problems were worked out, with ET steadily dropping. The team is confident that the next outing of the bike will produce much better results. Given the teams and Wayne's past history of winning, you can bet that they will be in the winner circle before the end of the 1999. |
SPONSORS NEEDED Yes, you too can have a piece of your very own Top Fuel bike.
